Common Pitfalls & Our Safeguards

Experience has taught us where projects can falter. These are not abstract risks; they are real scenarios we structure our process to avoid, protecting both your investment and our focus.

The Methodology Note

This framework is evaluated against project robustness. We prioritize clear scopes, defined feedback loops, and intellectual property clarity. Success is measured by sustained collaboration and agreed-upon deliverables, not arbitrary metrics.

1

Scope Creep

The Mistake: A project expands without adjusting timeline or budget.
Our Safeguard: All work is defined in a scope document. Any significant change triggers a formal change order, ensuring clear expectations and fair compensation.

2

Ambiguous Feedback

The Mistake: Vague requests like "make it pop" delay progress.
Our Safeguard: We use structured feedback templates. Clear, specific input on objective deliverables keeps projects moving efficiently.

3

Ownership Ambiguity

The Mistake: Unclear rights to final assets or strategy documents.
Our Safeguard: Deliverables and ownership are explicitly defined in the master service agreement prior to project commencement.

4

Decision Paralysis

The Mistake: Projects stall waiting for feedback from multiple stakeholders.
Our Safeguard: We identify a single, authorized point of contact at kickoff to ensure clear and timely decision-making.

Key Terms, Plainly Stated

Legal documents often obscure intent with jargon. We believe clarity builds trust. Here are the essential terms defined in the context of our partnership.

Statement of Work (SOW)

The single, binding document that details the specific deliverables, timeline, milestones, and budget for a project. It is our shared roadmap. Any work outside the SOW is considered additional.

Our Take: Treat this as the project's constitution. It should be as specific as possible before work begins.

Deliverables

The tangible outputs of our work—be it a strategy document, a set of ad creatives, or a website prototype. Deliverables are defined in the SOW and are the primary basis for project completion.

Our Take: We focus on outcomes, not just tasks. Each deliverable has a clear objective tied to your business goals.

Intellectual Property (IP)

The ownership rights for the creative and strategic assets developed during the project. Our default position is that you own the work created specifically for you, upon full payment.

Our Take: We retain rights to our process and methodologies, while you own the final assets tailored to your brand.

Retainer

An ongoing agreement for a set number of hours or scope per month. Retainers are ideal for sustained work (like social media management or content production) and offer priority access to our team.

Our Take: The best fit for long-term growth, but we often recommend starting with a project to establish workflow.

Change Order

A formal document used to alter the Scope, Timeline, or Budget of an active project. It ensures that both parties are aligned on adjustments and their implications before proceeding.

Our Take: This is not a penalty; it's a tool for honest conversations about evolving needs and resources.

Feedback Cycle

The structured process for reviewing work and providing input. It typically involves rounds defined in the SOW. This rhythm prevents endless revisions and keeps the project on schedule.

Our Take: The most important factor for project momentum. We design this cycle with you at the start.

Our Commitment to Clarity

These terms are the foundation of our professional relationship. They are designed not to restrict, but to enable a smooth, productive collaboration where your business objectives and our creative expertise can align without ambiguity.

For a complete and legally binding version, please request the full document via email. We are happy to walk through any specific clause in person or via call to ensure absolute clarity before you engage our services.
